Microsimulation parking choice and search model to assess dynamic pricing scenarios

This article analyses the impact that different parking management policies may have on public roads. Policies were simulated using a new model based two sub models: choice of place and search for place. The considers curb traffic was implemented into traditional microsimulation software. parameters models estimated from data collected in city centre Santander (Spain) stated preferences survey asked to users spaces. testing run Aimsun simulation software creating personalised API programmed Python 3.7. proposed able dynamically simulate various charging on-street spaces with fare updates at short time intervals between 5 15 min. A sensitivity analysis performed scenarios considering levels information available users. As result, this work demonstrates some benefits dynamic fares such as reducing searching time, induced emissions well modal redistribution off-street supply. On contrary, implied needed spend bit more their location destinations.
